The weekly therapeutic art program offered at Astoria Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center located near the Housatonic Museum in Bridgeport’s south-end is designed to give its residents an opportunity to be involved in a creative visual activity which renews their sense of accomplishment while building self-esteem. Residents also enjoy the natural therapeutic benefits of the painting experience. The class is taught by Leonardo Franco, Art Therapist and art educator. Each year, a new selection of art work is chosen to be printed on note cards and Astoria Park’s yearly calendar. Proceeds from the sales of the note cards and calendars benefit the resident Art Therapy program.

Astoria Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, a 135 bed skilled nursing facility that offers quality 24 hour nursing, rehabilitative and other care services for short term recovery and long term care, is located at 725 Park Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.
